Anglicisms, abbreviations and terms that are not always self-explanatory are often used in marketing, such as SEA, SMB and SOV. In this series of articles, I would like to shed some light and briefly explain selected marketing terms. This article is about terms that start with the letter en S.

The English term seeding means “sowing” in German and means in social media marketing the targeted placement (sowing) of the viral message.
In segmentation, complex units are broken down into individual segments, i.e. parts or sections. In marketing, for example, markets can be segmented. The overall market is broken down according to certain criteria and homogeneous groups of buyers are formed.
SEM stands for " Search Engine Marketing " , which translates to search engine marketing . As a sub-area of online marketing, SEM has the task of increasing visibility and ultimately access to your own website through an optimal presence in search engines.
Sentiment ratio means something like "mood rate" and is one of the few established key figures in social media monitoring alongside the share of voice. It shows the proportion of positive, negative, or neutral user voices on the web.
The acronym SEO stands for English. S earch Engine Optimization, which means “search engine optimization” and therefore describes online marketing measures that lead to your own websites appearing higher in the organic search engine results.
SERP is the abbreviation for “ Search Engine Result Page ” used in online marketing. This describes the page that is displayed by search engines such as Google after a search process has been completed and that outputs the search results.
The share of voice (SOV) has established itself as one of the few standard metrics in social media marketing and describes the proportion of mentions about your own brand in relation to the total mentions.
A slogan is a motto, a slogan or a memorable advertising slogan.
