Location
The Washington Dulles International Airport, which openedin 1962,is the largest and most important commercial airport in the metropolitan area of Washington DC. It is located approximately 40 kilometers northwest of downtown Washington. Ronald Reagan National Airport is approximately 30 miles away and Baltimore Airport is approximately 95 kilometers away. It is very easy to get to by car via Virginia State Route 267 as well as State Route 28.

In addition to the usual options for arriving and departing with your own car, taxi, rental car, shuttle van or limousine, there is also the option of using local public transport. The MARC bus route 5A runs regularly between the airport and L’Enfant Plaza in downtown, which also stops at the Rosslyn metro station (Orange + Blue Line) and at the Tysons-Westpark Transit Station in Tysons Corner, between the airport and the West If Church metro station (Orange Line) runs regularly every 30 minutes, the “Washington Flyer Coach Service”. The Baltimore-Washington International “Thurgood Marshall” Airport opened in 1950is approximately 10 miles southwest of downtown Baltimore. The airport, like the others, is very easy to reach by car, either via the signposted Interstate I-195 or via Maryland Route 295 (Baltimore-Washington Parkway). Since 1980, the airport has had its own train station, the BWI Rail Station, at which the Amtrak “Northeast Corridor” route and the MARC “Penn Line” route regularly stop. A free shuttle service runs between the BWI Airport Rail Station and the terminal, which is just 2 kilometers away. Passengers who have to transfer between Dulles Airport and Reagan National Airport should first travel to Rosslyn Station (Orange + Blue Line) and then change to the Blue or Yellow metro line towards Franconia-Springfield / Huntington.

Passengers between the airport Dulles / Reagan National Airport and the Baltimore airport need to change, drive to Union Station and then change to Amtrak or the “Penn Line” of MARC. Drive to the BWI Rail Station, from there is a regular and free shuttle bus service to the airport. Alternatively, you can also take the green metro line (Green Line) from the L’Enfant Plaza station in downtown to the Greenbelt station and then change to the metro bus route B30, which also goes directly to Baltimore Airport.
